In this fine biblical study, Fred Zaspel’s gifts as a scholar-pastor are evident in the patient but enthusiastic way he explores the fulfillment of God’s purposes in Christ. Read with an open Bible and a ready heart, these pages will convey both the wisdom and the wonder of God’s plan and the thrill of discovering again the glory of Jesus Christ.
Review
This is a little gem of a book, a kind of ‘fast food’ version of Geerhardus Vos’s material on biblical theology, or a busy preacher’s ‘Theological Swiss Army Knife . . .’. Packing the covers full with helpful and profound insights into the connection between Christ and the Old Testament, he explores the age of ‘expectation’ – then moving on into the New Testament we enjoy the age or era of ‘realisation’.
Dr. Zaspel ranges widely through familiar as well as unfamiliar texts, giving us exciting and fresh angles from which to view our Saviour. It could serve as an excellent primer in biblical theology, or a basis for group study or a pastors’ fraternal.
Originally given as two lectures it is nicely printed and produced.
